The Target and the Parrot
This painting portrays a woman with a composed yet defiant gaze, embodying the resilience and strength demanded of women throughout history and today. Her expression reflects awareness and resistance, symbolizing how women have long been targets of expectations, oppression, and scrutiny. The parrot on her shoulder, vibrant and alert, is a symbolism for both surveillance and voice that echoes how women’s narratives are often shaped by others, yet its vivid colours affirm individuality and the power of self-expression against silencing. Behind her, concentric circles evoke cycles of struggle and progress, reminding us that while the past echoes, voices of resistance grow stronger. This work seeks to spark reflection and dialogue, honouring women's resilience and reminding them they are enough.

Life comes with challenges, and navigating them alone can feel unbearable. For me, peace isn’t just a place. it’s found in moments shared with loved ones, time spent creating, and anchoring my faith in God. This piece, “The Human and her white hako,” is a visual representation of calm in chaos. The white halo over the figure symbolizes serenity a reminder that each of us must find what grounds us and return to it when the storms of life hit.For some, peace might be a quiet moment, a person, a prayer, or a creative outlet. The key is recognizing it and holding onto it.

This piece honors Queen Móremí, the legendary Yorùbá heroine who used her beauty, courage, and wit to liberate the Kingdom of Ifè from the Ugbo invaders. Captured and made queen by the enemy, she uncovered their secrets and led her people to victory — but at the heartbreaking cost of her only son, sacrificed to the river god Esimirin. Her legacy lives on as a symbol of feminine strength, purpose, and sacrifice. As women, we carry the power to nurture, to lead, and to bloom like flowers in full soul. Like Móremí, may our lives speak of strength, creativity, and purpose.

She’s Queen, she’s powerful, she’s Black. Her royalty doesn’t necessarily have to be by birth, but by her virtues and values. She’s not a goddess, but she’s a Queen! She’s brave and cannot be overlooked; though history might tend to be unjust to her. Though she’s covered in Green, once you dig to the roots you’ll discover that the foundation is Black. Though she’s compassionate, she’s a fighter for what is just and right! She’ll never stop fighting for the good course because she’s… Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, Chief Justice Meaza Ashenaf, Karmala Harris, Serena Williams …and so on.

MY DREAMS ARE VALID Being me is unique. I wish all eyes could see that. I wish I wouldn’t have to be judged right from the first glance at me. I wish getting an education wouldn’t have to be second-guessed for me. I wish that I wouldn’t have to live on the lonely island of poverty. I wish that I wouldn’t have to be judged by the colour of my skin before having the chance to exhibit the content of my character. I believe that all men are created equal and should be treated as such. I believe that despite my colour, my dreams are valid!

In the painting "Awaiting the Bell," there is a depiction of a classroom filled with students wearing uniforms, eagerly waiting for the bell to ring. However, the main character stands out as she is depicted sleeping, possibly out of exhaustion. It's a scene that captures the contrast between the students' anticipation and the main character's need for rest.
